HISTORY
The name of the Prolog was chosen by Philippe Roussel as an abbreviation for programming logic. It was created since 1972 and it was motivated by the desire to use logic declarative knowledge representation language with procedural representation of knowledge.
INTRODUCTION
Prolog is one of the logic programming with associated Artificial Intelligent and Computational Linguistics. The logic programming can be related in terms of relations and is done by executing queries over these relation. Relation are defined by clauses. By given a query, prolog will search for data that have been store already in prolog's database. So the prolog basically give us the right answer if we give the an appropriate database structure. By having these kind of database, this make the prolog programming particularly useful for database, symbolic mathematics, and language parsing application.
APPLICATION OF PROLOG
Nowadays, prolog programming have been use in many kind of industry that contribute to Artificial Intelligent usage. Artificial Intelligent is one of the good example today that this language really give an impact in computer science field. In major AI textbook, it said that "the study and design of intelligent agents," where an intelligent agents is a system that perceives its environment and takes action which boost up the chance of success. One of the application are, facial recognition system which apply an Artificial Intelligent in the system

One example of the web that practice facial recognition is MyHeritage.com(http://www.myheritage.com/.) Beside of the facial recognition, there also other application that using a prolog. This application of prolog is being used in the medicine where it had been used to calculate the Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. It`s mean that able to perform clinical laboratory calculation. This calculation is important to calculate the risk of having a coronary heart disease. Others, prolog also widely use in aerospace application and in gaming technology worldwide.

Also in gaming fields, prolog are use in certain type of games called tetris which it use prolog to solve the solution in puzzle of tetris games. Prolog will search for logic solution and come out better solution.

Prolog is also used in developing software that practice voice/speech recognition and dialog management. One of the example is a software named "Clarissa", developed by NASA. This software is use by astronauts in ISS(International Space Station) to executes many procedures such as conducting experiments and perform medical exam, while focusing completing their task. Besides Clarissa, there are also a software that created using prolog that is very useful in clinical fields. This software is known as ARREZO which give guidelines and professional advice to each patient.ARREZO make decision through the collection of data for each patient. ARREZO consist of three elements, which is composer, tester and performer.

In finance company for example bank, they use artificial intelligent to organize operations, invest the stocks and manage properties. Financial industry are now using artificial neuron network system( is a mathematical model or computational model that stimulate the structure aspect of biological neuron network) to detect the charges or claim outside of the norm.
